well i made this topic before everything was deleted, and forgot to remake it, so thanx for that elli


this is the palace of my dads birthplace of Corfu (Kerkira)

the palace was built by a Austrian (or Prussian, cant remember) Queen, its called the Achillion, and was totally dedicated to Achilles. The Queens admired and loved Achilles. Now-a-days the palace is a casino.

axxx i've been there and i have to admit it was beautiful.......this is my favourtite artwork from the palace, im sorry i couldn't find it in colour as im not sure as to what it is actually called, but you may have seen it before, i particualry like this painting because of the story i was told about it.....the artist of this painting spent alot of time on it....perfecting it....and when he finally finished and stepped back to admire his work he noticed that he had made everything so lifelike.....everything seemed to be gushing past like the wind....all excpet for the whell of the chariot....i know the quality of the picture is not that good and if anyone knows the name of the painting....could find a better version it would be great......but noice how the wheel seems not o be moving like the rest of the things in the painting.....it looks immobile........and so the artist couldn't bare the mistake and ended up committing suicide.....now i am not sure as to how true this tale is....but it was a different thing standing in front of it and being told that story.....can anyone tell me is it is indeed true???

anyways i think its amazing, the painting and the story, and to tell you the truth, i didn't even noitice what the wheel looked like....what do you guys think ???
