Talk about mods conversions and any other typical revhead stuff in this thread.
Anyways hoping OXI PE can answer the following...
I got a 1.8 VVTL-i engine on my corolla....
can you tell me if you can get TRD CAI's easily and if you know how to install them and for how much??
I will do more research about exhausts..but do u do exhausts??
I think a turbo will be a wrong option for my car....but do you know anything about computer chips...maybe so the lift (powerband) can kick in earlier than 6000 rpm??
thats all for now

TRD products hey...I happen to be the president of the NSW SUPRA Club, so I can get anything for any Toyota.
Might take a while, but I can get it. Don't turbo it, you would need...
turbo
manifold
fmic
Piggy back or full ECU
blow off valve or a wastegate alone with no blow off valve (contrary to popular belief, blow valves are not necessary, I don't have a bov on my car...just wastegate)
oil cooler
fuel pump
injectors
gauges (for the bling factor, but you would need a boost gauge at least)
exhaust from turbo back
spark plugs
ignition leads
the list keeps going and going...plus labour, you'd be lucky to get all that done for around $12k including labour. The cost outweighs then benefits in terms of kw @ the wheels from your engine.
With cams, head work, fuel system decent ECU and proper tuning you should make at least 110kw @ the wheels from your NA engine.
We do exhausts but not in house, we take the cars to Lambros or Jimmy at Liverpool Exhausts...computer chips, I wouldn't know I'd have to look into it for you, but again the cost outweigh the gains...

cold air induction i may be able to help you with.
you need a flat pannel filter , and some angline piping you put the flat pannel filter into the box and run the piping from the end all the way down to the bottom of the car then mount it

and thats it because cold air is always found at the bottom not at the top.
don't get a pod airfilter they do nothing for your car unless you have a heat shield for it.

Put that into your air box, and replace the stock air intake with one of those 2 inch flexi pipes...man, just bring it to the workshop and we'll do it for you or bring it to my place and I'll do it...PM me

You Can Do It Yourself Take The End Of Where Your Air Induction Is Of The Air Box And Run The Pipe Down. Bad Thing In Doing So Is Alot Of Water And Mud Gets Trapped In The Air Intake Pipe May Cause Troubles Your Better Off Keeping It Stock As Is And Putting Either A K&N airfilter and leave it at that.
The Sportivos Have Enough Power You Want Power Go Get A Set Of Extractors And Sports Exsaust And Stage 1 Cams.

Im thinking..if removing the air intake thingy..wouldnt that affect the air flow meter...and hence confuse the computer and cause the car to play up?

Not unless you remove the airflow sensor/meter
And removing the air box to instal a pod air filter would make your car an instand defect...it would suck in hot air from the engine (hot = no performance gain) and you would need to spend more money to get a custom hear shield made up. Unless you're doingit jus for the induction sound of the pod filter.

i can answer this hi nrg , leave your cai as it is because if you end up putting pod airfilters , you need to put a heat sheild then you need to start cutting holes into the car because cold air is at the bottom and not at the top another problem is that if you have your pod at the bottom from the rain you will get water into your pod airfilter up through your air intake and into your engine which is no good.
a simple idea is to buy a k&n panel filter and place it into the air box which is already sealed and wrap the air box with a insulator from the airconditioning.
A good exsaust you may come across is a mandrel bent exsaust any exsaust place can do it .
go look on the toymods forums hi nrg they have everything you need to know on there and its very easy do it yourself things as well.

You'll get close to fvck all power increase with any air filter, panel or pod, unless you have a turbo. Exhaust, if you go for cat back sometimes you actually lose power down low and gain up top.
You're better off doing extractors and then exhaust all the way through.
The exhaust shop I send all the boy from the NSW SUPRA Club are the fvcking best. No complaints from any SUPRA owners.
If I were you I'd just leave it stock. If you want the sound get a 2 1/2 inch cat back with a canon muffler. If you want speed/power...forget it. Once you start spending money on a car its over. Plus your car is NA, unless you do head work and some other work to the engine you're wasting your money.
I've spent well over $20k on my engine alone. Not including wheels, stereo, suspension (my suspension alone cost me $3k, HKS Hyper max II, height and camber adjustable and handles like its on rails)

HiNrg...trust me...its a waste of money. Even if it is a sportivo, they make what...110kw @ the fly wheel? With a filter and a cat back exhaust you'd get an extra 5 kws maybe? Not at the wheels, at the fly wheel...which = to sweet fvck all at the wheels and its not even enough to notice.
Just cause your exhaust will be louder doesn't mean your car would be faster.
Unless you turbo it, or supercharge it, the mods will not justify spending the money. You'd be looking at $110 for the filter, and $350 for a cat back exhaust + labour. So say $500 all up for what? A loud exhaust?
Wog...yes, I am somewhat of a Toyota expert. Having owned 3 supras now...being the president of the NSW SUPRA Club and having my own workshop...but everyone knows an air filter and exhaust do nothing for performance...
You want the car to be faster, then do the following
head work
bigger injectors
in tank fuel pump
extractors and exhaust
piggy back ECU or a microtech with agresive tuning and you would get at least 120kw @ the wheels...now you'd be getting around 80 kw @ the wheels
