On tv today they mentioned that Australia plans to play three or so games early next year, with several teams that were mentioned being Greece Holland and South Africa.

This would be fucking fantastic, hopefully for the effort of Greece travelling to Australia it would mean they would get to play Australia twice or atleast if several other teams were here to play Australia, Greece would play the other teams as well. Greece Holland in Australia would be a excellent game to go to considering Holland is ranked 2 in the world.

If Greece plays Australia I will make sure I get tickets even if I have to do a criminal act just to get the tickets.

The reason why the game would attract huge numbers is because it's Australia playing v the European Champions. The game would be packed with Greeks and we'd show those Aussies what crazy soccer fans are really like.

I must admit the celebrations so far after Australias win against Uraquay have been big, good and pretty full on, but the majority were people in Rugby Union Wallaby tops still thinking they were at a rugby match. If Australia plays Greece and Greece wins, we'll take to the streets and cause Kaos like this country has never seen. Before the game there will be KAOS and during there will be KAOS it will be crazy atmosphere.

Frank Lowy on 'ABC's 7.30 report just said that Australia will be having two friendlies next year. One against probably Greece and he didn't mention the other team.

Hopefully this is confirmation that the Australia Greece game will be reality.

SBS world sport said that Australia in the next 6 months will be playing with Croatia Holland and maybe Greece. Lets hope this is the case.

The Hellenic national squad is heading to Australia for two matches that are set to delight local fans in May 2006.

EUROPEAN Champions Greece are set to visit Australia in May next year for two matches against the Socceroos in Sydney and Melbourne. A third match between the two sides is also on the cards with London touted as the possible venue.

But it's the two matches in Australia that will delight local football fans who will get the opportunity to applaud both sides for their recent achievements.

The first game is schedule to be played in Melbourne at the MCG in May at a date yet to be confirmed. The two teams will then play a second match in Sydney on May 26, the Socceroos final game in Australia before departing for Europe where they will continue their world cup preparations with possible matches against South Korea, Holland and Denmark.

A local businessman who has put up a guarantee of $500,000 for the Hellenic national team tour of Australia says the contracts signed last week were done so under the proviso Greece brings most of the members of its European Championship winning team.

"One of the clauses in the contract stipulated that the Hellenic national team must include at least 75% of the players we marvelled at during the European Championships in Portugal. Of course one must bring into consideration injuries and Hellenic coach Otto Rehhagel's need to include new players to the squad," Minos Paterakis told Neos Kosmos.
