China is creating the world's first 'Woman Town' where ladies make all the decisions and disobedient men face punishments. The Shuangqiao district of Chonggong, a city within China's south-western Sichuan Province, will be transformed within two years, say construction workers. We love this tidbit from the Chinese papers: the slogan 'A woman never makes a mistake. A man can never reject a woman's request' will be carved into the town gates. Excuse us while we roll around laughing.


A SHOULDER FOR EVERYONE
Need to have a cry? Soon, there might be a misery club near you. No, we're not joking: misery clubs (think: AA for sad people) have been popping up in the UK, Japan and the US. A new club has opened in London called 'Loss', where patrons are encouraged to hover over bowls of chopped onions and sob; and in Tokyo, stressed businessmen can rent rooms by the hour to watch weepy movies. Fancy that.


WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT ...
We cringed to hear a British family was left with a $48,000 damage bill after a party advertised by their 17-year-old daughter on MySpace was gate-crashed last weekend. Two hundred revelers stormed the house in northern England on Easter Monday, pulling out light fittings, burning the furniture and leaving buckets of vomit in their wake. A scary reminder to anyone thinking of doing a party shout-out online.

What she's trying to say is that there isn't a completely equal chance of any story that exists in the world being posted in here. No, in fact it's limited to the languages that members here can understand and the (limited) intelligence of the membership group as a whole. Therefore we are far more likely to get Cleo stories in here than excerpts of Ulysses. This makes the concept of 'random stories', null and void

that is very true. Random is never really random, and there is always some sort of pattern to it, just like when you put your Ipod on Random shuffle...theres a pattern so that you never hear the same song twice.

That doesn't always work, well it might on your Ipod but on the comp at work someone put the player on random and it plays the same songs. So annoying.

well then its not programed properly. but thats how it is with ipods. and its true about the random theory that nothing is ever really random.

In year 10 while everyone else was at the snow, my friend Simone and I made rumcakes in Food Tech but the imitation rum made them taste quite horrible. We ended up throwing them at the year 12's coming out of a history class. Viva the fighter rumcakes!
