The former New South Wales MP Milton Orkopoulos is facing more than 20 new offences.

Orkpoulos was arrested last November and charged with 33 child sex, pornography and drug offences.

The charges stem from his alleged dealings with three teenage boys.

The 49-year-old was sacked from his Aboriginal Affairs portfolio the same day.

Police have this morning charged Orkopoulos with a further 21 offences, after arresting him at a home at Hamilton in Newcastle, on the state's central coast.

The charges include 12 counts of supply prohibited drug, six counts of homosexual intercourse with child aged 10 to 18 years, and three counts of indecent assault.

Orkopoulos has been refused bail and is due to appear in Newcastle Local Court this afternoon.
