Baghdatis to play Open warm-up in Sydney
SYDNEY will get its first sight of 2006 Australian Open sensation Marcos Baghdatis in action in January.
The 21-year-old Cypriot has entered the Medibank International in Sydney for the first time as part of his preparation for the 2007 Open at Melbourne Park.
World No.12 Baghdatis joins a hot men's field in Sydney, including four-time champion Lleyton Hewitt, world No.2 Rafael Nadal and title-holder James Blake.
A former world junior champion, the charismatic Baghdatis became a cult figure at the Australian Open this year as he beat Andy Roddick, Ivan Ljubicic and David Nalbandian to reach the final where he took a set off world No.1 Roger Federer.

I hope Baghdatis gets to play Hewitt. It would be a great match to go and see...
