what r some under-rated islands u guys have visited that u were impressed with and/or dont recommend going too

no posting up the usual popular islands like Mykonos and Santorini

im talking about lesser known ones

Definately NOT impressed by the island of Corfu

and u base ur assumption on?

considering uve never been to a greek island before?

Corfu is a well known island and most popular Island among the Germans, Austrians, English and Serbian tourists among all the other islands

Zakynthos was good i loved it. im not sure how well known it is, cos often when i mention it people dont really know about it (non greeks i mean)

Aegina - about 45 minutes with the ferry from piraeus... although i went in the middle of winter, the weather was nothing less than great! no wind, quite sunny... i could only imagine its even better in summer

oh yes i remember going to aigina, and there was a apergia on the plia so we couldnt leave the island for about 3 extra days. it was funny. we had a good time. we walked up some mountain and saw these ancient little churches. nice place to visit.

Pserimo and kalymnos

ouuuufffff... pserimo.... that place is beautiful... its so small and has no roads... there are houses on the beach.... the church is next to a park! omg its an amazing little island

Delentos is stunning too

hint: greece has lots of wonderful beaches on mainland - no need to look for islands

ps you need at least a week to see corfu(due to its size) - its a gorgeous island - 4x4 needed

i didn't visit many islands when i went to greece, stuck to the mainland prety much, but i hope to next time...but vaggos is right the mainland does have beautiful beaches

but since the thread is about islands...

i passed through lefkada on the way to kerkira...so didn't have enough time to see it...but from what i did see...i didn't really like

kerkira was a beautiful island, but i liked the towns etc not so muh the beaches (not that i really got the chance to go swimming)

my favourite island which i visited was zakynthos, beautiful beaches and we were taken by a little boat to a small island called "marathonissi"...the bluest water i have ever swam in...also saw some "careta careta" lol but it is strictly for swimming only...only thing was the poms have taken over in zakynthos...we walked a tavern called "greek tavern" and i couldn't help but think....well where the hell are we? africa?

yes zakinthos is cery westernised, even in the church when we went the chanting was very different to the normal greek. it had like a german influece i think they said it was. very strage i found it. but still i loved zakinthos. i think it has something to do with one of the wars that the isalnd was westernised. not so sure.

Kalymno/"The Rock" is a very reliable Personal Floatation Device! Hasn't let anyone down yet

Kalymnos is Beautiful.. It might be small and have alot of kotes and ship, but it is BEAUTIFUL, nice beaches people etc etc I can't bag it out i love it to much!
