When i'm not being lazy, I love cooking pasta dishes. I love making spinach & ricotta canneloni. Home made napolitano sauce.
I like making pastichio and moussaka too.
As for sweets i make chocolate rum balls, apple pies, δίπλες, μελομακάρινα, κουραμβίεδες.

the first thing my mum ever taught me was makaronia me kima, i remember once in junior high for food tech, we had to prepare a pasta dish that was from a packet (yuck) i refused to make it as i dind't like it so i made some kima, bought it inot school, cooked the makaronia and had my whole class drooling including my teacher, eftiaksa kai mia xoriatiki salata, i gave them a feast lol
i remember back in yr 11 hosptitality i was getting 92% for the practical exams, but i wouldn't eat it cos the stuff they made us make was yuck, one was this pasta bake that tasted like tomato sauce and vegies *vomits* thank god i dropped the thing for year 12...no one is a better teacher than your mum

haah i somehow always ended up doing the washing up aswell cos i used to get pissed off when they wouldn't rinse the sapounada off the plates, i mean come one man that is just filthy! i'd wash the plates before and after i'd use them, i didn't trust anyone in that class.
even this year when i did hospitality i'd always get in trouble cos i would "waste too much water" by rinsing the plates, and no matter how many times she told me i'd always do it, eventually the people i had to work with banned me from washing and i got stuck wiping and putting away ... farked up pragamata i tell ya!

Back in highschool they made us cook food with luminoharto, outside in the sun we also made our own little sattle light sun ray thing, then they expected us to eat..........
If its not cooked on an oven, in a catsarola or on the bbq or with karvouna i aint touching it...........
Im proud to say, ive learned well, i can cook almost anything, and for the greeks of all greeks i can even open my own fila, when making hortopita, kolokithopita, any pita..... and even home made village style bread....
Glyk lol remember that easter wen i made it all and NO ONE beleived it was me that cooked all that? lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...... You cant pick your family, but u can pik ur friends, The look on their face wen they realised it was true!!!!!!!!! PRICELESS.......... as glyk as my witness. lol

I am a modern man and I can cook. Unlike Ajax I didn't need to take cooking lessons, because eixa tin mitera mou! I can cook Mousaka(my fav) Pastichio(Basically the same) Makaronia me kima, and anything grilled, especially souvlakia. I make my own tzatziki also.
I need to stop talking about souvlakia, because I am gettin very hungry now. I think tommorow I will have to make some with a nice xoriatiki salata.
I got a funny little story about "xoriatiki".
I was in Athens about a month ago and had my girl over at my uncles hotel. We were hungy so we decided to order some pizza and a xoriatiki salad. Well, I ordered the pizza and then I told the guy I also wanted "mia xoriatiki". When the food arrived there was no "xoriatiki" (at least that I knew about), instead there were two pizzas. I thought to myself oh well I suppose "I'll just eat pizza". When I opened the second box, guess what was there? A "xoriatiki", but not salata but PIZZA!

Yes that's right they have a "xoriatiki" pizza.
It is amazing to see how much Ellas has changed over the years. Just like with souvlakia. Tora exoun
1)Kalamaki xoirino 2)Kalamaki kotopoulo 3)Yiro 4)Yiro kotopoulo kai to 5)Soublaki me bifteki
Kai telika mporeis na dialekseis "Sauce" para tzatziki.
Thimame palia otan ipirxe mono Soublaki(kalamaki, without asking for kalamaki) and Yiros.
Enough with the good old days, because I am showing my age now!
