Nothing has emerged out of the Savvidis (russian tycoon) interest, there have been many reports that he was ready to buy and had Goumenos by the balls, but Goumenos has had other ideas, and i blame Savvidis not being in control of PAOK on Goumeos.

The reports that the Aggelopoulos family was interested in the team, all bullshit, there was never interst from Aggelopoulos, it was just lies from Goumenos.

Then thers the Bobolas interst, who was reported to have bought PAOK off goumenos, this is still all in the air, and nothing is officaial yet.

Fans riot as PAOK club faces collapse

Police fired tear gas at soccer fans rioting early Tuesday over the possible exclusion of PAOK Thessaloniki from the Greek league and UEFA Cup next season because of financial problems.

One policeman was slightly injured in the city center clashes. No arrests were made.

Protesting youths hurled rocks at riot police and set fire to trash bins before being dispersed.

The violence broke out after a leading industrialist, Theodoros Angelopoulos, denied reports he was poised to take over the club which is a reported $25 million in debt.

Angelopoulos is the husband of the chief Athens Olympics organizer in 2004, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki.

PAOK has until Wednesday to pay $3.8 million in outstanding debts or face expulsion from the Greek league and 16-team first division.

PAOK -- the largest club outside greater Athens -- finished the season in sixth place.

Last i heard was that goumeno has gone and has handed the shares to AS PAOK. No one has bought them yet, but Savvidis is pritty close to buying them.

Despite our hatred for Northern teams such as PAOK and ARIS we have to admire their fans for not giving a shit and going all out. Aris fans spend more time running on the field than sitting in their seats. And Paok fans spend more time locked outside their stadium from fan bans.

Δεν σεβάστηκαν τον κόσμο που τους προειδοποιεί ειρινικά τόσες μέρες, δεν σεβάστηκαν τον κόσμο που τους ψηφίζει. Δεν σεβάστηκαν καν την πόλη στην οποία γεννήθηκαν. Ο κ. Γκαγκάτσης σήμερα το πρωϊ κρατούσε τις τύχες του ΠΑΟΚ στα χέρια του, όπως και πέρσυ με την εγγυητική επιστολή του Πανιωνίου, αλλά θέλησε να δώσει ένα πολιτικό χτύπημα στον Ορφανό, με βάση την κόντρα τους για την διαχείρηση του ελληνικού ποδοσφαίρου. Έτσι άφησε τον ΠΑΟΚ. Με το σκεπτικό ότι το πολιτικό κόστος θα το επωμιστεί ο Ορφανός στην Θεσσαλονίκη. Αποκλείστηκε ο ΠΑΟΚ απο το UEFA. Την ίδια ώρα που ο ανίκανος και λίγος πρόεδρος του Ερασιτέχνη ΠΑΟΚ δεν μπορούσε να κλείσει ένα στοιχειώδες ραντεβού με τον Παπαδόπουλο ή τον Σαββίδη για να πάρει έστω την τελευταία ώρα την εγγυητική επιστολή. Αλλά ο κ.Κατσαρής, που ώς γνωστόν δεν τον υπολογίζει κανείς στην Θεσσαλονίκη ή στην Αθήνα, το μόνο που κατάφερε να κάνει είναι ανούσιες συσκέψεις με φαφλατάδες παράγοντες. Και βγαίνει και μιλάει για "προδοσία" ο κ.Κατσαρής.. Η υποκρισία σε όλο της το μεγαλείο.. Ο κ. Ορφανός δεν μπόρεσε να σηκώσει το τηλ για να πείσει να δεχτεί η Εθνική Τράπεζα τα νόμιμα διακαιώματα απο τα τηλεοπτικά που έχει η ΝΕΤMed και να δώσει στον ΠΑΟΚ την εγγυητική επιστολή. Και ας ήξερε ότι με την κίνηση αυτή θα έσωζε το πολιτικό του προφίλ στην Θεσσαλονίκη. Δεν το έκανε όμως. Γκαγκάτσης και Ορφανός παίξανε το παιχνίδι του ελέγχου του ελληνικού ποδοσφαίρου στις πλάτες του ΠΑΟΚ. Κατσαρής και Παπαδόπουλος ήταν εκτός τόπου και χρόνου, με τον έναν να μην τον υπολογίζει κανείς και τον δεύτερο να σφυράει αδιάφορα.. Και ο Γούμενος; Είμαι σίγουρος ότι κρύβεται σε κάποιο καταγώγι και πίνει ρετσίνες...Το κύρος του ΠΑΟΚ στην Ευρώπη, μετά απο 10 συνεχόμενα χρόνια παρουσίας, έχει δεχτεί το μεγαλύτερο πλήγμα..

PAOK expects UEFA Cup return
Ousted Thessaloniki club has injected funds needed to meet competition criteria, reports say

A PAOK fan club, led by academic and politician Costas Zouraris, yesterday expressed its desire for fans to acquire greater equity control.


PAOK soccer club, which was recently ousted from next season's UEFA Cup after failing to meet the necessary financial standards set by UEFA, the competition's organizer and European soccer's governing body, was expected to win an appeal this week and regain its place, local reports claimed yesterday.

The Greek soccer federation's appeals committee, reports said, was expected to accept the Thessaloniki club's appeal on Thursday when it convenes to examine the troubled club's case.

In its bid to regain PAOK its place in European club-level competition next year, PAOK's administration has reportedly injected 6 million euros' worth of funds into the local soccer federation's approvals committee.

It is now up to EPO, the Greek soccer federation, to deliver its verdict to UEFA, which, theoretically, complies with decisions reached by local soccer federations. However, it remains unclear whether UEFA would accept EPO's ruling unconditionally.

Until late yesterday, UEFA had not provided any further announcement about PAOK's future in European competition. UEFA's official website maintained until late in the evening that «an appeal committee decided to uphold the original EPO decision to deny the Thessaloniki-based club the right to compete in Europe due to unpaid debts.»

A group of PAOK supporters, spearheaded by academic and politician Costas Zouraris, a candidate for the leadership of the team's amateur division in elections tomorrow, held a news conference yesterday to comment on the club's decline and condemn current officials for the club's poor state.

The club's administrative future appears unclear. In recent weeks, interested investors have held meetings with club officials about the prospect of taking over the cash-strapped team, but no deals appear to have been reached.

PAOK ended sixth in the Greek league last season, scraping into the UEFA Cup. However, the recent decision to expel the club from competition has outraged fans of PAOK, Thessaloniki's biggest club in terms of popularity and success.

Την ώρα που ο Γιάννης Γούμενος είναι πολύ κοντά στην πώληση του ΠΑΟΚ στον επιχειρηματία Γιάννη Καμπάνη, ο Ιβάν Σαββίδης έδωσε προθεσμία 48 ωρών στον πρόεδρο του Α.Σ. Θανάση Κατσαρή να απαντήσει στην πρόταση του ομογενή επιχειρηματία για την αγορά της ΠΑΕ, την οποία κατέθεσε εγγράφως με επιστολή... .

Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες ο Γιάννης Γούμενος έχει συμφωνήσει σχεδόν σε όλα με τον επιχειρηματία από την Ανδρο και μέσα στις επόμενες ημέρες αναμένεται να πέσουν και οι υπογραφές ολοκληρώνοντας την μεταβίβαση της ΠΑΕ στον Γιάννη Καμπάνη.

Την ίδια ώρα ο Ιβάν Σαββίδης και ο δικηγόρος του Αλεξάνδρος Λυκουρέζος παρέθεσαν συνέντευξη τύπου για την κατάσταση και ο ομογενής επιχειρηματίας έδωσε προθεσμία 48 ωρών στον πρόεδρο του Α.Σ Θανάση Κατσαρή να απαντήσει στην πρόταση που έχει καταθέσει για την αγορά της ΠΑΕ. «Πρώτη φορά συνομιλώ με ανθρώπους που αντιμετωπίζουν προβλήματα, χρειάζονται χρήματα και τελικά δεν έρχονται να μου μιλήσουν» είπε ο Ιβάν Σαββίδης.

Τον λόγο πρώτος πήρε ο Αλέξανδρος Λυκουρέζος, ο οποίος έκανε γνωστό ότι μετά από πολύωρες συζητήσεις με τον πελάτη του, τον κ. Σαββίδη, συνέταξε μια επιστολή, την οποία απέστειλε στον κ. Κατσαρή και η οποία ουσιαστικά είναι η επίσημη πρόταση του επιχειρηματία, για την αγορά του πλειοψηφικού πακέτου. Συγκεκριμένα μέσα απ΄ την επιστολή αυτή, ο κ. Σαββίδης κάνει γνωστό, ότι θα αναλάβει όλα τα χρέη του συλλόγου και παράλληλα των διακανονισμό αυτών, υπό την προϋπόθεση ότι δύο ορκωτοί λογιστές θα ελέγξουν, εντός 48ωρου, τα βιβλία του συλλόγου. Επίσης, ζητάει από τον Ερασιτέχνη ΠΑΟΚ να του παραχωρήσει την αποκλειστική χρήση και την εμπορική εκμετάλλευση του γηπέδου για 49 χρόνια, ενώ παράλληλα θα προχωρήσει στην κατασκευή νέου γηπέδου χωρητικότητας 40.000 θέσεων. Ακόμα, αναλαμβάνει να πληρώσει όλο το πόσο που οφείλεται στον Δημήτρη Σαλπιγγίδη και συνάμα την πλήρη δαπάνη για το ανώτατο αθλητικό δικαστήριο της Λοζάννης, γνωστό ως CAS και την προσφυγή που θα γίνει, για τον αποκλεισμό από το κύπελλο UEFA. Σε ερώτηση, αναφορικά με τι εγγυήσεις έχει ο κ. Σαββίδης, όπως ακούστηκε στην γενική συνέλευση, ο τελευταίος απάντησε: ¨Για πρώτη φορά στη ζωή μου συναντώ ανθρώπους, τους οποίους τους δίνω χρήματα και δεν τα παίρνουν. Όσων αφορά τα χρήματα, δεν χρειάζεται να πω ότι έχω εγγύηση κάποιο πόσο. Εμείς δεν ήρθαμε για να δώσουμε μόνο την εγγυητική και τέρμα. Εμείς θέλουμε να λυθούν τα προβλήματα και αυτό με την Ευρώπη. Η Εθνική τράπεζα μπορεί να έδωσε την εγγυητική αλλά το πρόβλημα δυστυχώς δεν λύθηκε. Αν χρειαστεί ο κ. Λυκουρέζος είναι έτοιμος να πάει στη Λοζάννη και στο ανώτατο το αθλητικό δικαστήριο".
