Well its nearly December and the new releases still keep coming. Giorgos Talikis adds himself to the list with his latest release album named Piretos. 12 tracks which start the Cd off with a great ballad and Track 2 has a mexican start that pumps into a tsifteteli called Alisitha great sound Track 3 is another balad Athieksotho then the Cd goes into some great laika rock and then as I was listening to the Cd I was thinking wheres the Tsaliki dance or big tsifteteli geting worried i went to to track 9 Oti Mou Zitiseis a kick ass tsifteteli that got me moving and is a definate hit on the dancfloor. Track 10 is typical rock Track The's Afino track 11 Lipeis is a nice ballad and track 12 is th nstrumental of track 1

Thank god for Track 9 on the Cd which will be a huge hit but overall a good album. Did expect a little more dancier from Tsalikis but cant have everything my way but overall a good balanced Cd to have in your collection

Dj Nick... Tsalikis new album is pretty good on my list...

I agree though number 9 will do well, his previous album 'O Telios Andras' is somewhat better but nothing will beat his best album.. it being ''AN HMOUNA PALIOPAIDO'' which was released back in 2001 with the best tracks 'ARROSTAINW, MAZI SOU KAI STHN KOLASI, ME XALAEI, AN HMOUNA PALIOPAIDO, SYNDETIRES & MANY MORE' - if he can go that step further and release tunes 'similar' (and make note of that 'similar') not the same to that album mentioned above then he will be up there again in the Greek hit list! smile.gif

Aideeeeee Tsalikis... shows us what you've got, what you're capable offffffffff!!!

Mz When you release a debut album you got no expectations of how well its going to go. Tsalikis has set the bar high from day 1 I still think this is a good album though
k0ukz23Q
compare it to his 2001 release dude... and tell me what you think B)

as i said your comparing a debut album with this

debut need to be a smash so they make a name for themselves as Tsalikis has done so quickly

I have heard a few of the songs of the Tsalikhs cd. All I can say is it's pretty shit. Oti mou zitiseis is ordinary and I don't know what is labelled as tsiftetelia these days but it's shit compared to Sotis Volanis. Also download George Wassouf music the Syrian Lebo if you want to hear what good tsiftetelia should sound like. non of this bouzouki for tsiftetelia, not designed for that shit!! An invention to get greek music away from sounding turkish. No wonder the Lebos reckon greek music is boring.

And a well balanced cd? come on it's all slow stuff one tsifteteli and another that sounded mexican. That's far from well balanced.

If Greek music is going to rely on fame story singers then it's not goign to produce much good stuff lately. One hit song per cd is not good, thank god for mp3s and burning technology becuase gone of the days of buying one Greek cd for a only good zembekiko or tsifteteli.

these artists sit on their asses drinking frape all day and they have two years to produce a great cd and they fail again. And if Dj's rely on these cd's for good tracks, one fast song won't cut it

Anyway enough said! still waiting for a decent tsifteteli!!!!

yes gp alot of the greek music nowadays is very "americanised" and some songs are just downright ridiculous (dont get me started on kalomira) but in regards to your comment "no wonder the lebs think our music is s**t" why do we care what the lebs think? there is plenty of good stuff out there.
greekprince
Yeah well i prefer tsiftetelia middle eastern type greek music and when greeks copy lebo songs they should atleast make them sound half decent like the originals and have atleast a good beat and rythme. What I am saying is greek music is going away from that sound with this kalomira bullshit. Greece is fucking near lebanon it's not situated 200kms from America so the music shouldn't try be american. Greeks r becoming brainwashed by America.

Yes there r many good greek songs coming out but there's not much in terms of good tsiftetellia stuff which is usually what is popular. And what i'm saying is the bouzouki is not designed for tsifteteli the frets r not designed for it. But the so called popular greek singers can keeping dishing out the bullshit if they want. Least there r some good ones around who aren't trying to be 'FAME'ous!!!!
If u download wassouf and compare it to what greeks r labelling as their upbeat middle eastern equivallent u'll realise that greeks got a lot to learn.

americanised you got that right... but then again many of our songs sound turkish and arabic so what's the go there? don't get me wrong i like it but stick to the decent GREEK music...

bring back the days of KAZANTZIDIS, POULOPOULOS, AGGELOPOULOS, MHTROPANOS, DALARAS, GABALAS, DIONISIOU.... that's what you call TRUE GREEK MUSIC!!! Not the so called americanised BS!
