The 24th annual Greek Festival of Sydney will launch with a day long celebration at Darling Harbour on the 26th of March, so bring your family, bring your appetite and bring your dancing shoes for a day of art, music, fine food and Greek festivities.

This event will go on into the night and will be the perfect way to celebrate multicultural Australia and the beauty of Greek culture through the arts, history, entertainment and food.

The Darling Harbour celebration will kick off the month long Greek Festival of Sydney, with over 30 events scheduled on this year’s program.

From cooking classes, theatre and political panel discussions to childrens’ activities, music and dance, this year’s Festival will have something for everyone.

What would someone say is the highlight of the festival?
My sister will be in Sydney during that weekend and she's excited to be there for the festival as we always go to the one in Melbourne, although that one needs a bit of a makeover. It's kind of boring these past couple of years.

Do I sense a little sarcasm my dear? laugh.gif

Back on topic, I have a mate that came from Sydney to live here for a couple of months (which has turned into around half a year, or so he plans laugh.gif )... anyway, he was telling me about your greek festival. Sounds good, we have the same thing, only we dont get Fame Story contestants - THANK GOD, if Koletsa rocked up I would personally throw a plate onto the stage to knock her the fuck out. laugh.gif
And we have Marvroi who jump up onto the stage and attempt to dance, while under the influence.
But eh, it is generally the same sort of occasion laugh.gif

Come to Sydney Kathi so we can throw a plate at her together laugh.gif I know plenty of 'boys' though who will be lining up eagerly to see Koletsa. She has a terrible voice but her looks seem to make up for the rest.

It is a pity though that the Greek Festival organising committee decided to bring her or anyone from Fame Story out. We have to remember that Antenna is one of the events sponsors. They work together with Heaven who help release all the cds for most fame story singers so obviously they seem to have a big say in who they bring out.

Apart from that, the Greek Festival is a great experience, especially the loukoumades. Most people think that is the highlight of the event, apart from catching up with every theio, theia and cousin you havent seen since you were a kid. It is sad to hear Greek people say though that they dont go to such an event because it is 'woggy'. Seriously, no wonder we are going downhill. The more people that turn up the better and that way, maybe, the organising committee will bring out decent singers for us to enjoy next year.
