What a load of bourthes! Everyone's friend (Risto) is crying poor > http://www.maknews.com/support.html

How can they say that (the so called) Macedonians in Greece lack even the “most basic rights”??

What the hell is a basic right? Being able to live in a foreign country is a basic right... being able to work and earn a living is a basic right... being able to speak their language is a basic right. Are they saying that they can’t do any of this in Greece?

Basic right’s my arse, seriously, they make it sound like (the so called) Macedonians living in Greece are starving like the children of Africa.

Basic rights: access to clean water, access to infrastructure, education, food, shelter, medicine. THESE ARE BASIC RIGHTS!

So, in other words.... http://www.maknews.com/support.html is saying that the (apparent) Makedonskis living in Greece don’t have access to these basic rights. I want to see an example of this!

Regards,
Philhellenism

Check out this site my theio found:

http://www.pollitecon.com/html/life/The_Hu..._Australia.html

This is an Australian company that publishes books aiming (quote):

"1. To provide quality information in English on the ethnic Macedonians

2. To assist the Macedonians in their desire to attain recognition and basic human rights

3. To assist Greece to end its policy of institutionalized racism and become a tolerant, multicultural society."

I totally agree with you... this whole thing is absolute crap (bloody grinares give it up) but this site is just to prove your point that there are morons out there asking for Australia to recognise these apparent "discriminations" against macedonian peoples and to act upon them.

Take a look.

Greece isn't exactly a shinning beacon of rights for foreigners and economic migrants, like Holland for example.

But Novamacedonians are allowed to speak their language, work, vote, buy homes, rent, get loans. Things should be better, for them and all economic migrants to Greece. But what they are claiming is an exaggeration.

These issues are all Machiavellian, designed to justify intransigence and win support so Novamacedonia can have its cake and eat it to.
Lets hope these tactics are met with wise heads who know how to play the political game, rather than daft hot-heads who will only add fuel to their fire.

These guys are morons , they are nothing but the mere past.

Greece close the boarder and tell them to piss off and let albania do the rest , they will work themselves into your country like they already have like they did to the poor serbian people of kosovo.

Only a matter of time , tetov and struga , orhid , bitola , then skopje will get eatten up.

Bye bye monkeydonia.

QUOTE (Shleek @ May 8 2008, 04:03 PM) *

hahahahahhaa, I had a good read on it. How are they to say breaches of Human Rights have occured when the country they seek from, the US, has breached those exact rights in Guantanamo Bay ?

Are these the same people who abused the Albanian Minority in FYROM to the point they had to take arms?

Are these the same people asking the Government of Australia to follow UN resolutions on Human Rights, yet still lobby the SAME government to disobey the UN's naming of "Macedonia"? Can't have it both ways can we.

Now to some exact points from the link:

QUOTE
15. Increase the amount of FYROM language programing on SBS Television in proportion to the size of the Australian FYROM population.

So, since the Asian and Italians are the largest ethic groups in Australia, will they also ask the SBS for an increase in Asian and Italian based programs on the SBS?

16. Investigate why SBS Television broadcasts an average of 156 hours of Greek language programing per year, year after year, while it broadcasts an average of only 2.75 hours of FYROM language programing per year, year after year. The investigation should also examine why SBS Television employs a vastly disproportionate number of personnel of Greek background, including on screen identities, compared to other nationalities, including FYROMians.

Maybe because the have judged the Greek programs as higher rating, higher quality, maybe even cheaper. 156 hours of Greek programming. Now lets do some calculations here. They show news from Greek, from ERT for an hour a day on weekdays. That should equate to 260 hours a year. Thats also not including any Greek movies they chose to air. 156 hours is way off the figure. Now, even if SBS was to show 20 mins from each country, there is not enough hours in the day to cover it all.

As to why SBS employs a vast amount of Greek personnel compared to any race for that fact, should they be punished for success? Should SBS employ people on their skills or on racial backgrounds? According to them, it should be on racial lines, so now I ask, who is being discriminatory?

QUOTE
20. Investigate why Telecom politicized itself and denied the Republic of Macedonia the right to self identify by placing the country under the letter F in the White Pages rather than under the letter M.

No need for that, all you have to do is contact the Dept of Foreign Affairs and find out what Australia recognises "Macedonia" as, FYROM. Very simple.

QUOTE
21. Investigate why the Australian Customs politicized itself by requiring an Australian importer of Macedonian background to re-label goods imported from the Republic of Macedonia.

Refer to my answer above.

The government generally respected the human rights of its citizens; however, there were problems in some areas. The following human rights abuses were reported:

police abuse of suspects, particularly during initial arrest and detention
police harassment of ethnic minorities, particularly Roma
impunity and corruption in the police force
political pressure on the judiciary
societal violence and discrimination against women, children and ethnic minorities, particularly Roma
trafficking in women and girls for sexual exploitation
government interference with union activity

the scopiani are in for a hrd time if this is the direction they want to take.

let them continue and let us see how it progresses for them.

how about they focus on their position with the Albanain minority within their borders and leave Greece alone.

they have serious issues and problems.
